The normal business hours for the City of Dickson Cemetery Department are Monday through Friday from 7:00 - 4:00. The office closes at 11:30 for lunch unless funerals are scheduled.

Cemetery Restrictions

Resolution 98-30

The following Cemetery Restrictions were read, adopted and approved by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Dickson on December 7, 1998.

  1. Flowers are to be kept in shatterproof containers. No glass or ceramic containers may be used.
  2. Flowers may not be stuck in the ground. They must be in containers.
  3. Flowers may be placed on top of monuments using restraining devices.
  4. Flowers will be cleaned off of a new grave in approximately five to seven days from date of burial.
  5. Flower stands will be removed from the cemetery from March 15th until October 15th with no exceptions. If the deceased has no monument, one flower stand may be used at the head of the grave.
  6. Any memorabilia left in the cemetery must be placed on the monument.
  7. No live plants or shrubs may be planted on or around a grave.
  8. No concrete, wood, or any other barriers may be placed on or around a grave or lot.
  9. Flags must be placed within two inches of the monument and at least four inches deep.
  10. Benches must be placed in line with monuments. They cannot sit on or across a grave. However, they can occupy the place of a monument.
  11. All interments in Union Cemetery and East Dickson Cemetery require the use of a vault constructed of concrete, steel, fiberglass or polypropylene.
