The Public Works Department is divided up into several divisions including Administration, Sanitation, Streets, and Storm Water with 27 full time employees.

Our normal hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., however our employees are on call 24 hours a day.

Administration Division

Provides centralized administration for all other operating divisions of the department. Provides in-house planning, design, and other services for infrastructure improvements for the City of Dickson.

Rydell Wesson is the director of the Public Works Department. Kimberly Givens is Mr. Wesson’s administrative assistant. The Public Works Department office is located at 600 East Walnut Street. 2010 Holiday Garbage Pick up Schedule:

New Year's Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Friday, then your garbage will be picked up on Monday, January 4, 2010.

Martin Luther King Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.

President's Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

Good Friday:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Friday, April 2, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Friday, then your garbage will be picked up on Monday, April 5, 2010.

Memorial Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, June 1, 2010.

Independence Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, July 5, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

Labor Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2010. If your normal pick up day is on Monday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

Thanksgiving Day and the Day After Thanksgiving:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Thursday, November 25, 2010. and Friday, November 26, 2010. If your garbage is normally picked up on Thursday, then your garbage will be picked up on Monday, November 29, 2010. If your garbage is normally picked up on Friday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, November 30, 2010.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:
The City of Dickson will be closed on Thursday, December 23, 2010 and Friday, December 24, 2010. If your garbage is normally picked up on Thursday, then your garbage will be picked up on Monday, December 27, 2010. If your garbage is normally picked up on Friday, then your garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, December 28, 2010.

Please make sure garbage is out by the curb by 6:30 a.m.
