Library Services are offered each day. Books are changed out once a month.
Field trips are offered several times each year. There is a minimal charge for these trips. Some examples are Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre, State Fair, Belle Carol River Boat, Belle Meade Mansion, Nashville Zoo, and the General Jackson Riverboat. Our most popular trip is our “Spring Fling” trip on the General Jackson Riverboat.
Special Craft Classes are offered each month. Johanna Seeger is the center volunteer that teaches these classes.
Exercise Classes are offered each Tuesday and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. These classes are adapted to senior’s special needs and are taught by a certified instructor.
We have an exercise room filled with commercial equipment that is available daily from 8-4.
Dances are conducted every Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. There is a $2.50 fee at the door to pay the band. There is an add-a-dish dance supper on the first Thursday of the month. Every third Thursday is “Family Night” and any age is welcome to attend.
The Senior Citizen Club meets on the third Friday evening at 5:00. There is a short business meeting, then an add-a-dish supper. The meat, bread and drinks are furnished with donations made to the club from local banks and organizations. Anyone that attends the senior center is a member of this club and there are no membership dues.
An AARP Safe Driving Course is offered every quarter. Classes are taught by a certified instructor from AARP. Most insurance company offer a discount upon completion of this course. Class should be taken every two to three years in order to receive your discount.
