Fire Marshal

 Inspections

The fire marshal is charged with the responsibility for inspections of new and existing buildings. During new construction, the fire marshal will check the sprinkler system, standpipes, fire alarms, detectors, emergency lighting, exits, extinguishers and fire pumps just to name a few.

Investigations

The fire marshal also has the task of investigating fires to determine cause and origin including the possibility of arson.

Plan Review

Another responsibility of the fire marshal is plans review. All site plans are reviewed by the fire department prior to submission to the planning commission. Site plans are reviewed for access, fire hydrant location, water supply and code compliance.


Burn Permits and Fireworks

Burn Permits


Per Ordinance #1253, You must register with the fire department prior to burning, and a permit number obtained each time you burn. Outdoor burning can be obtained at the fire department, or you can contact Fire Marshal Robby Street.



Fireworks


Fireworks may be displayed only from June 20th thru July 5th and from December 21st thru January 5th of each year from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., with the exception of December 31st from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. on January 1st. A permit is not required to display fireworks.
